CHIBEARS DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
The Bears bet the future on Daniels. The board says B-. The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
That Coleman pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will need Ford to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In the 1st pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In pick No. 9 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick75
Rnd3
Keon Coleman
Keon Coleman at the 75th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher slid further than he should have, and slot 110 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick122
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Matt Goncalves at pick 122. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick146
Rnd5
Jaylan Ford
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaylan Ford in No. 146, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
