The Bears found their guy under center in Williams: D.

The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. They will answer for taking DT-EDGE early while edge rusher and linebacker went begging.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They will need Powers-Johnson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
