Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA FutureC+
A passer of the future in Williams, and a B, for the Bears.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hart. Every board in the league had Sinnott lower, and that gap is the story.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick15 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In the Round 1 slot they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac in the 50th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick62 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
Good price on Payton Wilson in slot 62, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick66 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at No. 66 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick93 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
By-the-book stuff, Brenden Rice at Round 3, Pick 30 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick114 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They paid a round early for Ben Sinnott in pick No. 114, more than the board wanted. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick116 Rnd4 Cam Hart
They read the board right and Cam Hart was the payoff at pick 116. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick134 Rnd4 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in pick No. 134 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
