Draft Grade — Bears
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
The Bears fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

Whoever sat across the table from the Bears should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Van Pran has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

In the end it comes back to Laiatu Latu, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Laiatu Latu
Laiatu Latu in Round 1, Pick 7 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 9 they get a matchup problem out wide. A real need, handled.
Pick38 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
J.J. McCarthy in pick No. 38 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick75 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A reach on Sedrick Van Pran in No. 75; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick110 Rnd4 Leonard Taylor III
By-the-book stuff, Leonard Taylor III at the 110th pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick122 Rnd4 Beau Brade
They let Beau Brade come to them and pounced at the Round 4 slot. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick146 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden slid further than he should have, and slot 146 is lovely value for the cornerback. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
