Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureB
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a D to match.

Somebody took the Bears to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.

So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will need Logue to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

However the rest shakes out, Hall Jr. at that price is a win they earned.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Brock Bowers
Nothing to complain about; Brock Bowers went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan at Round 2, Pick 4 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick44 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette in No. 44 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Pick67 Rnd3 Kingsley Suamataia
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kingsley Suamataia at the 67th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick72 Rnd3 Jermaine Burton
Jermaine Burton slid further than he should have, and pick 72 is lovely value for the wide receiver. The roster fit checks out.
Pick75 Rnd3 Caelen Carson
Caelen Carson at the 75th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick77 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
They paid sticker price for Christian Haynes in slot 77, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick100 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
The board had Michael Hall Jr. higher than the 100th overall pick, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Dominick Puni
No drama and no debate, Dominick Puni went about where he belonged in the 102nd pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick110 Rnd4 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in pick 110 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick125 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams at slot 125 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick146 Rnd5 Javon Foster
Javon Foster slipping to pick No. 146 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick186 Rnd6 Christian Jones
Christian Jones in No. 186 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick232 Rnd7 Zion Logue
They went early on Zion Logue in Round 7, Pick 12, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
