Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D
ValueA NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
Height should have been long gone. The Bears pounced, and earned a D.

Somebody in Round 7, Pick 25 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Romello Height, the No. 44 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In the 19th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
Pick25 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
The board fumbled Jeremiyah Love all the way to No. 25, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick39 Rnd2 Mansoor Delane
Steal is underselling it; Mansoor Delane at pick No. 39 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 David Bailey
They barely believed it either: David Bailey still on the board at slot 57. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick71 Rnd3 Kayden McDonald
Kayden McDonald at the 71st overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Sonny Styles
A linebacker of that caliber at the Round 3 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick107 Rnd4 Dillon Thieneman
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Dillon Thieneman in pick 107, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick129 Rnd4 Carnell Tate
You do not let a wide receiver like Carnell Tate reach Round 4, Pick 29 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick145 Rnd5 Cashius Howell
They robbed the room for Cashius Howell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Taking Jaeden Roberts in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick239 Rnd7 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in the 239th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick241 Rnd7 Romello Height
Somehow Romello Height was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 25, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
