Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesD- FutureB
The Bears drew a line under the quarterback search with Williams: C+.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They are betting Frazier proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

If Caleb Williams and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In No. 1 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick19 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
They paid sticker price for Dallas Turner in the 19th overall pick, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick48 Rnd2 Ja'Lynn Polk
They jumped the gun on Ja'Lynn Polk, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens in Round 3, Pick 4 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick104 Rnd4 Zach Frazier
They left a pile of value on the table to take Zach Frazier this early at the Round 4 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick132 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker in pick 132 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick141 Rnd5 Tyler Guyton
No edge and no loss on Tyler Guyton in the 141st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at slot 182 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick225 Rnd7 Bryson Nesbit
Nothing to complain about; Bryson Nesbit went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
