The Bears answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Bears did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Gore Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

The McMillan steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
