The Bears found their guy under center in Maye: B-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Reaching for Baker left real value on the table behind him. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The James Conner pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
