The Bears went off the board in a big way for Troy Bowles, 31 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Cooper Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
