The Bears cashed the board's mistake on Burke: A-. The real work happened on the phones. The Bears fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
The Burke value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback and wide receiver open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
