The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Reaching for Frazier left real value on the table behind him. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

With running back unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them. The Paul value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
