BoilerMacR DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A passer of the future in Williams, and a B-, for the Bears. The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In pick 9 they get a seam-stretching tight end at fair value. More want than need.
Pick75
Rnd3
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in Round 3, Pick 11 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jalyx Hunt
They took Jalyx Hunt at par in No. 122, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
