Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Monheim: B-.

Call it larceny. Jonah Monheim sat on the board until Round 6, Pick 22, and the Bears did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The Dellinger pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

In No. 10 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
They paid sticker price for Tyler Booker in the 39th pick, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

They liked JT Tuimoloau enough to skip the value, taking him in the 41st overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tate Ratledge. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

The board had Darius Alexander higher than the Round 5 slot, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

They barely believed it either: Jonah Monheim still on the board at pick 197. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

Luke Lachey in slot 235 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.

They talked themselves into Garrett Dellinger at pick No. 242, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
