Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureF
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Bills: C. The Bills spent real capital to be 49 picks early on Evan Anderson, and the board is going to hold them to it.
The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Robinson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 20th pick they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick29
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In pick 29 they get a premier pass rusher, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick60
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Nothing to complain about; Braden Fiske went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick99
Rnd3
Cam Hart
Fair-plus on Cam Hart, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick129
Rnd4
Johnny Wilson
By-the-book stuff, Johnny Wilson at slot 129 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick143
Rnd5
Roger Rosengarten
Roger Rosengarten in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick159
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd at slot 159 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick162
Rnd5
Braiden McGregor
A reach on Braiden McGregor in the 162nd overall pick; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick198
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick202
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield at pick No. 202 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick206
Rnd6
Daijun Edwards
No drama and no debate, Daijun Edwards went about where he belonged in the 206th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick246
Rnd7
Evan Anderson
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Evan Anderson well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
