Draft Grade — Bills

FutureB
The Bills kept it disciplined and banked a B. There is reaching, and then there is Marist Liufau at slot 144. The Bills jumped the board by 20 and dared it to prove them wrong.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Cowing value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick60
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
Good price on Xavier Worthy in the 60th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick70
Rnd3
Austin Booker
They paid a round early for Austin Booker in slot 70, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick92
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Calen Bullock slid further than he should have, and pick 92 is lovely value for the safety. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick107
Rnd4
Mekhi Wingo
No drama and no debate, Mekhi Wingo went about where he belonged in No. 107. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick125
Rnd4
Josh Newton
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Josh Newton. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick128
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
By-the-book stuff, Roger Rosengarten at the 128th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
Fair-plus on Isaac Guerendo, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick144
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Marist Liufau well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
A quiet steal in the 160th overall pick: Jacob Cowing for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick163
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
They liked Khristian Boyd enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 163. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
