Draft Grade — Bills

FutureB-
The Bills did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jaishawn Barham at pick No. 208 is 29 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Horton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Emeka Egbuka
A tidy bit of business in No. 30, where Emeka Egbuka graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick56
Rnd2
Maxwell Hairston
They reached a country mile for Maxwell Hairston at the 56th pick, and the board is aghast. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick62
Rnd2
Tyler Baron
A big swing on Tyler Baron at Round 2, Pick 30, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick108
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
Good price on Kevin Winston Jr. in pick 108, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick131
Rnd4
Tory Horton
Taking Tory Horton in slot 131 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick171
Rnd5
Earnest Greene III
Earnest Greene III is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in slot 175 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick206
Rnd6
Cam Jackson
Cam Jackson at the 206th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick208
Rnd6
Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in Round 6, Pick 30 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick218
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Miles Frazier well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
