Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Williams is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: B-. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
Pick75
Rnd3
Austin Booker
Austin Booker in No. 75 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick122
Rnd4
Hunter Nourzad
Good price on Hunter Nourzad in the 122nd overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
