Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Giants fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A.

The Giants treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 219th overall pick on Ethan Downs a full 65 spots early. Very little went wrong, and the A is earned.

That Walker pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

The Derek Stingley Jr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
In pick No. 25 they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Jaxson Dart
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaxson Dart. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick58 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori in pick 58 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jalon Walker
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at the 65th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick99 Rnd3 Darius Alexander
They did well to land Darius Alexander in the 99th pick, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick105 Rnd4 Jackson Slater
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jackson Slater this early at slot 105. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
No edge and no loss on Denzel Burke in slot 109; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick132 Rnd4 Logan Brown
Logan Brown at No. 132 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick154 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
A quiet steal in pick 154: Hollin Pierce for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick177 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Dont'e Thornton Jr. at the 177th pick, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick219 Rnd7 Ethan Downs
A wild overpay on Ethan Downs in Round 7, Pick 3, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick246 Rnd7 Joshua Simon
Joshua Simon at the 246th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
