Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Cardinals: B-. The Cardinals clearly saw something nobody else did in Trevor Etienne, taking him 34 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Landing Caldwell that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In slot 16 they get a green-dot type in the middle, though they paid up to get him.
Pick47
Rnd2
Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery at the 47th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick78
Rnd3
Sebastian Castro
They jumped the gun on Sebastian Castro, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick115
Rnd4
Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne at No. 115 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick152
Rnd5
Jamaree Caldwell
Steal is underselling it; Jamaree Caldwell at pick No. 152 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick225
Rnd7
LaJohntay Wester
A big swing on LaJohntay Wester at the Round 7 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
