The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Cornelius Johnson went at pick No. 215, a good 201 picks before the board was ready. A mixed bag that lands at C+.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Sainristil pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
