The phones sank the Panthers this weekend: D-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Panthers spent the Round 7 slot on Rasheen Ali, a name most had 64 spots down the list. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. With edge rusher unsolved, spending premium capital on interior defensive lineman is the choice that costs them.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
