A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bears: B-.

The needs board said one thing and the Bears did another, using Round 4, Pick 12 on Cole Bishop while cornerback, linebacker and other spots waited.

For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Bishop left real value on the table behind him. Getting Smith where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
