Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureD
The Seahawks robbed the room for Giddens. Final grade: D.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Seahawks, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. It grades a D, and the process earned it.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Giddens. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They are betting Membou proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Nick Emmanwori
In Round 1, Pick 18 they get a two-high chess piece. More want than need.
Pick23 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In pick 23 they get a cornerstone up front, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in the 50th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick82 Rnd3 Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at pick No. 82 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick137 Rnd4 Terrance Ferguson
Nice patience on Terrance Ferguson, who had no business lasting to slot 137. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick173 Rnd5 Dillon Gabriel
Circle this one: Dillon Gabriel at No. 173 is a fall that decides a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick187 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 6 slot with a little surplus value in Antwane Wells Jr.. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick212 Rnd6 DJ Giddens
Somehow DJ Giddens was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 34, and they pounced on premier running back value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick236 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton at pick 236 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
