Mrivas DRAFTING FOR THERavens

Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Stout should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a B-. This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Upton Stout, the No. 189 name on the board, stolen at the 212th overall pick. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Mike Green
In the 27th pick they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick59
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in slot 59 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick91
Rnd3
Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro in the Round 3 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jaylin Lane
Jaylin Lane in pick 129 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick136
Rnd4
Mello Dotson
No drama and no debate, Mello Dotson went about where he belonged in the 136th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick176
Rnd5
Jonah Monheim
Fair-plus on Jonah Monheim, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick183
Rnd6
Willie Lampkin
Nothing to complain about; Willie Lampkin went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick203
Rnd6
Vernon Broughton
A quiet steal in No. 203: Vernon Broughton for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick210
Rnd6
Antwane Wells Jr.
A tidy bit of business in the 210th pick, where Antwane Wells Jr. graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Pick212
Rnd6
Upton Stout
Steal is underselling it; Upton Stout at slot 212 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick243
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa slid further than he should have, and pick 243 is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
