Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB+
The Patriots finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Patriots reached some 98 spots for Devin Culp, and value like that does not grow back. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. The Arnold value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick8
Rnd1
Jayden Daniels
In the 8th overall pick they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Terrion Arnold
They let Terrion Arnold come to them and pounced at No. 34. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
Jordan Morgan in pick 35 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick47
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 47 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick53
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
By-the-book stuff, Braden Fiske at Round 2, Pick 21 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick68
Rnd3
Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick104
Rnd4
Theo Johnson
Theo Johnson at the Round 4 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Pick120
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
They paid up for Mohamed Kamara at the 120th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick121
Rnd4
Cody Schrader
Cody Schrader in slot 121 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick182
Rnd6
Dwight McGlothern
A tidy bit of business in the 182nd pick, where Dwight McGlothern graded well above the range. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick194
Rnd6
Brevyn Spann-Ford
A big swing on Brevyn Spann-Ford at pick No. 194, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick233
Rnd7
Devin Culp
A real head-scratcher, Devin Culp in Round 7, Pick 13 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
