Somebody in No. 134 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Sam Leavitt, the No. 73 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. They will need Lomu to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
