Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Jets: B-.

The Jets treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 253 on Noah Thomas a full 46 spots early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
In pick 4 they get a ballhawk on the back end. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36 Rnd2 Sam Leavitt
A straight-up fair deal on Sam Leavitt at slot 36, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick104 Rnd4 Evan Stewart
They jumped the gun on Evan Stewart, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick139 Rnd5 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in No. 139 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick182 Rnd6 Jaishawn Barham
A reach on Jaishawn Barham in the 182nd pick; the board had better options right there. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick197 Rnd6 J.Michael Sturdivant
J.Michael Sturdivant at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick209 Rnd6 Elliot Washington II
Elliot Washington II in pick 209 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick210 Rnd6 PJ Williams
PJ Williams in slot 210 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick251 Rnd7 Dasan McCullough
Dasan McCullough at pick No. 251 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick253 Rnd7 Noah Thomas
Value said wait; Noah Thomas in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
