The Chargers let Hurst fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-. You could see the war room lean forward. Shadre Hurst at the Round 5 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will need Robinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
On the needs board they went 3 of 3, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
