Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureA+
Quarterback settled, Maye in the fold, and a D for the Bears.

The Bears torched the value chart for Zach Frazier, taking him 31 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The whole projection now runs through Drake Maye; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Turner at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In No. 3 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick11 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In slot 11 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Keon Coleman
A straight-up fair deal on Keon Coleman at the 35th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick41 Rnd2 Dallas Turner
Taking Dallas Turner in the Round 2 slot is close to grand larceny; an edge rusher that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick42 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
A premium they did not need to pay, Cooper Beebe a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick68 Rnd3 Cooper DeJean
Value with a capital V on Cooper DeJean in pick No. 68, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick69 Rnd3 Amarius Mims
They paid a round early for Amarius Mims in Round 3, Pick 5, more than the board wanted. The roster fit checks out.
Pick104 Rnd4 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier at No. 104 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick132 Rnd4 Donovan Edwards
This one needs a full-page explanation: Donovan Edwards in slot 132, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
