Maye is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a D-.

The Bears treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 69th overall pick on Zach Frazier a full 60 spots early.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They have staked the next five years on Drake Maye, which is the only story that really matters here. It is not that Tampa is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
