Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Cardinals answered their biggest question with Williams. Grade: D.

Somebody took the Cardinals to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. The Arnold pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at tight end. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Bishop pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Harris.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 2nd pick they get the arm they will build around. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick8 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In No. 8 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick21 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Terrion Arnold
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went defensive back with Terrion Arnold while clear needs at tight end sat open.
Pick66 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in the 66th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick70 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
A premium they did not need to pay, Barrett Carter a notch or two before his time. It fills a real need, too.
Pick90 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
A conviction pick on Christian Haynes at slot 90 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick102 Rnd4 Bucky Irving
No drama and no debate, Bucky Irving went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 2. The roster fit checks out.
Pick127 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
The board had cheaper options than Cole Bishop at Round 4, Pick 27, and it noticed. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick133 Rnd4 Nehemiah Pritchett
A reasonable price with a little left over, Nehemiah Pritchett in slot 133. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick139 Rnd5 Reuben Fatheree II
A quiet steal in the 139th overall pick: Reuben Fatheree II for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick169 Rnd5 Fabien Lovett
A straight-up fair deal on Fabien Lovett at the 169th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick198 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Curtis Jacobs in No. 198 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick215 Rnd6 Sincere Haynesworth
By-the-book stuff, Sincere Haynesworth at pick 215 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick223 Rnd7 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick226 Rnd7 Willie Roberts
Value with a capital V on Willie Roberts in pick No. 226, a genuine coup. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
