Ryker DRAFTING FOR THEVikings
Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Vikings checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. The Vikings treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 3 slot on Nicholas Singleton a full 22 spots early. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a green-dot type in the middle. Need was not the driver here.
Pick43
Rnd2
Garrett Nussmeier
Garrett Nussmeier in the 43rd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick75
Rnd3
Nicholas Singleton
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nicholas Singleton this early at the 75th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick97
Rnd3
Drew Shelton
By-the-book stuff, Drew Shelton at slot 97 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
