Ryker DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Eagles a B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Eagles did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to cornerback, which was the need that mattered most. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Reaching for Stowers left real value on the table behind him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Christen Miller
In pick No. 21 they get a disruptive interior force. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman at slot 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick69
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at pick 69 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick98
Rnd3
Suntarine Perkins
Suntarine Perkins in the 98th pick is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
