The Chargers cashed the board's mistake on Jones: A.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Trente Jones tumbling to the Chargers in pick No. 253 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A to cap it.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

In the end it comes back to Rome Odunze, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
