Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Jaguars: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Jaguars reached some 75 spots for Roderick Kearney, and value like that does not grow back. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The Cuevas steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick56 Rnd2 Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard at Round 2, Pick 24 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick81 Rnd3 Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange at pick No. 81 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick88 Rnd3 Anthony Lucas
They paid sticker price for Anthony Lucas in No. 88, and that is fine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick100 Rnd3 Monroe Freeling
Monroe Freeling at the Round 3 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick124 Rnd4 Jakobe Thomas
No drama and no debate, Jakobe Thomas went about where he belonged in the 124th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick162 Rnd5 Josh Moten
Josh Moten at slot 162 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick164 Rnd5 Roderick Kearney
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Roderick Kearney. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick233 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
Jalon Daniels at the Round 7 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245 Rnd7 Josh Cuevas
Taking Josh Cuevas in slot 245 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
