Draft Grade — Seahawks

Good, not great, for the Seahawks: B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Howard Cross III at No. 172 is 50 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
The Sanders steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Thomas pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher and quarterback.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Wyatt Milum
In slot 18 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50
Rnd2
Demetrius Knight Jr.
A conviction pick on Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 50 that the board grades a round light. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick52
Rnd2
Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at the Round 2 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick82
Rnd3
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders at Round 3, Pick 18 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick92
Rnd3
Azareye'h Thomas
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Azareye'h Thomas at cornerback with edge rusher and quarterback open.
Pick137
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in the 137th overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick172
Rnd5
Howard Cross III
This one needs a full-page explanation: Howard Cross III in Round 5, Pick 34, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick175
Rnd5
Willie Lampkin
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Willie Lampkin. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick223
Rnd7
Ben Yurosek
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ben Yurosek well ahead of where he belonged. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick234
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in No. 234 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
