The Saints clearly saw something nobody else did in Thomas Fidone II, taking him 111 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The Royals steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
