When a board-topper like Justin Scott slides to the 58th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the 49ers did not.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
