Nobody else had Sam Brown anywhere near No. 119. The Titans did, by 110 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They have staked the next five years on Cam Ward, which is the only story that really matters here.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Getting Wease Jr. where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
