Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall

FutureB
The Falcons got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D. The Falcons looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Phillip Webb at pick 248 regardless, 93 picks early. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
On value alone, McCord makes the weekend a net positive.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In slot 15 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Need was not the driver here.
Pick34
Rnd2
Nic Scourton
Nic Scourton in the 34th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Fair-plus on Jonah Savaiinaea, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tre Harris
Nice patience on Tre Harris, who had no business lasting to No. 65. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117
Rnd4
Malachi Moore
Taking Malachi Moore in pick No. 117 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick155
Rnd5
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in pick 155 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick244
Rnd7
Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton in the 244th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick248
Rnd7
Phillip Webb
Value said wait; Phillip Webb in Round 7, Pick 30 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick255
Rnd7
Nick Martin
They jumped the gun on Nick Martin, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
