Professor DRAFTING FOR THEBears

FutureB-
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Bears to a C. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Logan Parr in the 236th overall pick. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Getting Emmanwori where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
So much rides on Ashton Jeanty that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In the Round 1 slot they get a centerpiece for the ground game, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick20
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In No. 20 they get a red-zone target to build around at fair value.
Pick41
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Somehow Nick Emmanwori was still sitting there in the 41st overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick72
Rnd3
Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at the 72nd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick166
Rnd5
JJ Pegues
A big swing on JJ Pegues at pick No. 166, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick233
Rnd7
Ja'Corey Brooks
No drama and no debate, Ja'Corey Brooks went about where he belonged in pick 233. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick236
Rnd7
Logan Parr
Logan Parr at the 236th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick240
Rnd7
Kitan Crawford
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kitan Crawford. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick241
Rnd7
John Williams
They left a pile of value on the table to take John Williams this early at Round 7, Pick 25. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
