Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B

The Falcons robbed the room for Burden III. Final grade: B. Somebody in the 46th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Falcons sat still while Luther Burden III, the No. 23 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for Oladejo left real value on the table behind him.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
Luther Burden III in slot 46 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick118
Rnd4
Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo at the 118th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick218
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Caleb Ransaw slipping to No. 218 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick242
Rnd7
Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers in the 242nd overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
