Train DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Best value of the weekend goes to the Bears for Marks: B-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Woody Marks, the No. 193 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 233.
The cost of the Ratledge reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Princely Umanmielen
In Round 1, Pick 10 they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Tate Ratledge at slot 39 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick41
Rnd2
Donovan Ezeiruaku
A premium they did not need to pay, Donovan Ezeiruaku a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick72
Rnd3
Jalen Royals
A slide stopped in No. 72, with Jalen Royals worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick148
Rnd5
Ty Robinson
Ty Robinson in the 148th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick233
Rnd7
Woody Marks
The board fumbled Woody Marks all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick240
Rnd7
Jermari Harris
The board had Jermari Harris higher than pick No. 240, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
