Archie09 DRAFTING FOR THECardinals
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Cardinals. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cardinals left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
Corum falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Paul reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Marvin Harrison Jr. at pick No. 4 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick27
Rnd1
Jackson Powers-Johnson
In the 27th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
They took Braden Fiske at par in pick 35, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick66
Rnd3
Kiran Amegadjie
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kiran Amegadjie in the 66th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick71
Rnd3
Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in Round 3, Pick 7 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick90
Rnd3
Blake Corum
Blake Corum in slot 90 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
