The Bengals won the night they stopped McCaffrey from sliding. Grade: B+.

The Bengals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Luke McCaffrey fell into the 214th overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

They will need Wallace to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The veteran additions, Cameron Heyward chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
