FutureB+
The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent Round 7, Pick 35 on Keilan Robinson, a name most had 54 spots down the list. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Landing Green that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
A conviction pick on Edgerrin Cooper at the 41st pick that the board grades a round light. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick64
Rnd2
Bralen Trice
No drama and no debate, Bralen Trice went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 32. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick88
Rnd3
Max Melton
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Max Melton at the 88th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick91
Rnd3
Renardo Green
A slide stopped in No. 91, with Renardo Green worth more than the price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick126
Rnd4
Christian Jones
They took Christian Jones at par in slot 126, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick169
Rnd5
Tanor Bortolini
They left a pile of value on the table to take Tanor Bortolini this early at pick 169. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick202
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
A reach for Garret Greenfield in slot 202; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick219
Rnd6
Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace at the 219th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick245
Rnd7
Daijahn Anthony
A tidy bit of business in No. 245, where Daijahn Anthony graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick255
Rnd7
Keilan Robinson
Keilan Robinson at the Round 7 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
