Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the 49ers for Stowers: B.

Call it larceny. Eli Stowers sat on the board until slot 90, and the 49ers did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The Coleman Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick36 Rnd2 Denzel Boston
They did well to land Denzel Boston in the 36th pick, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick63 Rnd2 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis slid further than he should have, and the 63rd overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick90 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at pick 90 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick108 Rnd4 Brian Parker II
They paid sticker price for Brian Parker II in No. 108, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick109 Rnd4 Chandler Rivers
A tidy little value on Chandler Rivers in slot 109, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick117 Rnd4 Bud Clark
A quiet steal in pick No. 117: Bud Clark for less than the market said. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick127 Rnd4 Chris McClellan
Chris McClellan at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick133 Rnd4 Max Llewellyn
A real head-scratcher, Max Llewellyn in Round 4, Pick 33 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick138 Rnd4 Kevin Coleman Jr.
A wild overpay on Kevin Coleman Jr. in pick 138, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139 Rnd4 Tyler Onyedim
They reached into another round for Tyler Onyedim, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick148 Rnd5 Travis Burke
A big swing on Travis Burke at the 148th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick179 Rnd5 J'Mari Taylor
A premium they did not need to pay, J'Mari Taylor a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
