Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB+ TradesC FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Seahawks: C+.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Seahawks would have aced it. Omar Brown at the Round 7 slot is 82 spots clear of where he belonged. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In No. 32 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cooper Beebe. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick81 Rnd3 Cole Bishop
A reach for Cole Bishop in the 81st pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick102 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
They liked Cedric Gray enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 102. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick118 Rnd4 Tip Reiman
Value said wait; Tip Reiman in pick No. 118 says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick192 Rnd6 Justin Eboigbe
By-the-book stuff, Justin Eboigbe at the 192nd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick235 Rnd7 Omar Brown
They left a pile of value on the table to take Omar Brown this early at No. 235. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
