Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Torrence from sliding. Grade: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ro Torrence got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at pick 235.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick40 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at the 40th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick46 Rnd2 Junior Colson
No drama and no debate, Junior Colson went about where he belonged in No. 46. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick81 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in the 81st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick102 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
They paid sticker price for Zak Zinter in slot 102, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick118 Rnd4 James Williams
James Williams at pick 118 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tip Reiman
A straight-up fair deal on Tip Reiman at Round 6, Pick 4, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick191 Rnd6 Walter Rouse
They barely believed it either: Walter Rouse still on the board at pick No. 191. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick235 Rnd7 Ro Torrence
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Ro Torrence in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
